Co-Founder Craig Laws
With more than 15 years of experience in financial markets, I have been fortunate enough to have been involved with, financed, and managed the finance relationship for some of Brisbane’s most well-known brands, venues, and assets. I have held senior banking roles within the commercial, mid-market, commercial property investment, and construction specialist divisions with predominant experience dealing with clients in the annual revenue turnover range of $25M-$150M and the debt range of $5M-$100M space. I am a solution finder, and no transaction is too complex. My competitive edge is I have been on “both sides of the fence” in a transaction, both as a senior banker and as an intermediary, which enables me to provide real value to clients in deal structuring and advising on the appropriate leverage and facility mix for a client.
I enjoy thinking outside the box and taking a REAL hands-on approach to every engagement. My career has been built on a solutions-focused lens and I have a deep understanding of credit risk along with the ability under Nexus Capital Partners to deliver commercial alternatives beyond the traditional major bank route. the combined end value of projects, total debt managed and new loans provided to a wide range of clients totaling over $ 1 billion throughout my 15-year banking career, I am well placed to add value in a wide variety of transactions both in CRE construction & investment and cash flow & balance sheet funding for businesses.

Having spent the last 14 years working in commercial finance, I have developed the skills required to deliver innovative financial solutions tailored to each unique business. Through adopting a collaborative day-to-day working relationship with clients, I have been able to continually execute arranging their funding requirements due to gaining a deep understanding of their business and clearly articulating their strategy to lenders.
Holding senior banking roles across commercial and mid-market segments, I have been able to provide continuity and familiarity for clients through the constantly evolving finance markets. Assisting businesses across a broad spectrum of industries including manufacturing, wholesaling, retail, professional services, property investment & development, I have gained extensive experience across a diverse range of industries & sectors working with clients ranging from SME businesses to ASX & Nasdaq-listed companies.
